The annual collegiate membership is $20. SASE will continue to offer a non-paid registration option to ensure accessibility for all students.

This new initiative also helps strengthen our broader SASE community by building stronger chapter connections, expanding alumni networks, and creating a more connected experience from college into career.

What is the membership term?

The SASE Collegiate Membership follows the academic year and is valid through September 30 each year, at which point it renews annually. Please note: This differs from the SASE Pro Jan–Jan annual cycle.

Is membership required to attend STEM Connect?

No. SASE continues to offer a non-paid registration option for students who choose not to join the membership program.

Why introduce a membership model?

This model was developed based on collegiate focus group feedback, benchmarking with peer organizations, and SASE’s continued growth. It creates more flexible ways for students to engage with SASE while also supporting expanded year-round programming, resources, and long-term organizational sustainability.

Can chapters still decide whether or not to charge their own members?

Yes. Chapters still maintain full flexibility to determine their own internal membership structure and dues. The SASE Collegiate Membership is separate and does not change a chapter’s ability to set or manage its own local membership model.

What if I'm not sure if membership is right for me?

Students are encouraged to choose the option that best fits their level of interest and engagement. Both pathways provide access to SASE programming and events.
